The site of an old Blacksmith Forge, Poyntington House was sited at a beautiful location, nestled into a hillside.
This presented extremely limited access which was not helped by the location of an apple tree. Extracting 100s of tonnes of earth from the site was quite a challenge!
The renovations and extension work included reconfiguring of an old garage into a dining room and also included ground work to reinforce original foundations. An additional room was added to the rear of the original building.
The inside was also transformed. Due to the location, the building is on split levels and the stairs form a central part of the space. The staircase was updated with oak clad newel posts and glass balustrades replacing the original ranch fencing. Custom bookcases and cabinets added a sleek and practical element as did the kitchen and bathroom refurbishment.
The outside of the property was given some much needed attention to good effect, with slate paving and manor fencing completing a wonderful project.
